My Approach to Helping
Hello, I am Rebecca Davis, LMFT135557. I am a person-centered therapist that enjoys working with clients of all. I tend to work with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; I have positive psychology and am person-centered. I am practicing other theories. I tend to work with at-risk youth on a regular basis. However, I have worked with adults and enjoy clients of all ages. I have worked with trauma, substance use, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and so much more. I try to create a non-judgmental, safe environment for my clients to feel open and safe.
I started in the field of psychology in 2014 while in my master's program as a Family Support Partner assisting parents with resources and other needs for them and their children that were in therapy (similar to a case manager). I then started practicing therapy in 2016, providing family and individual counseling. In 2018, after graduating and becoming a registered associate MFT, I worked in a substance abuseresidential program with adult women providing therapeutic services. In 2018, I transitioned to working with at-risk use. I have been working with at-risk use full-time for 5 years. I also became a licensed MFT in September 2022.
I like to discuss what the client wants to focus on and have the client create the goal with me.The first session is more like an interview; I want to get to know the client (their likes, dislikes, hobbies, family dynamics, etc.). I want to explore what the client wants to get out of being in therapy and what I can do as a therapist to assist them in meeting their goals.
