My Approach to Helping
For the majority of middle school and high school-aged children who attend therapy, starting treatment is a choice made by an adult in their lives. Many feel pressured by the idea of telling an adult about their problems. In working with adolescents and pre-teens, I believe that the most important component of therapy is the therapeutic relationship. I strive to provide a comfortable environment that allows the client to talk about what's important to them, while also taking into account parent concerns. It's my belief that therapy should be, not only a place to talk about issues and concerns, but also a place where clients can talk about their interests, positive experiences, and all of the things that make them unique as a person.
