My Approach to Helping
Whether you are going through a difficult transition, feeling lost, or unsure of yourself, I can help. As a therapist and Life Coach, I believe that tiny leaps result in big changes. After we build trust where the client can not only feel safe to be honest with me, but also to themselves, we collaborate to help break down goals into small achievable steps which the client can comfortably accomplish. I also help guide the client through learning skills to help them live more in the here and now with mindfulness, resiliency, and coping skills.

My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist is to provide a safe environment for you to be able to express yourself with no judgment or shame for whatever you need that week. Sometimes, I am a guide that works with you on determining what your goals are and how to achieve them. Other times, I'm the one person who hears what you have to say and understands what you are trying to express. I'm a sound board for ideas and a teacher who provides skills that help you when times are tough. My role as a therapist is to accompany you on this journey of self-discovery by providing encouragement, honesty, and motivation to reach the success you have always wanted.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
The most important factor in choosing a therapist is not what kind of therapy they practice or which University they got their degree from. It is if you feel a connection with this person so that you can feel safe enough being honest and vulnerable. If you cannot be honest with your therapist (and ultimately yourself) about the issues that you are bringing to the session then there will be little to no improvement.
It is okay to shop around for therapists to find the right one for you. Sometimes clients know instantly if they will like a therapist, others it takes a few sessions to warm up to each other. The most important thing is for you to be successful in this endeavor which means finding the kind of therapist that works for you!
