My Approach to Helping
Greetings all. My name is Regina Bryan, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10+ years in mental health counseling. While I'm not wedded to any one particular theoretical model, I like to use an approach that integrates many disciplines to address mental health and psychosocial issues. A few of the models I use in therapy are Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Client-Centered, Strengths Perspective, CBT, Motivation Interviewing, and Mindfulness, in addition to breathing and grounding exercises. My focus areas are Depression, Anxiety, SUD, and other forms of emotionalmental distress. If you are ready to explore these issues in a safe space with an authentic practitioner, contact me to start the journey. In the meantime, be well.
I like to integrate multiple theories in my practice using an eclectic approach. Some of the theories are Psychodynamic, Client-centered, Humanistic, and Mindfulness to explore client issues.
I work exclusively with adults across all sexualgender orientations. I'm comfortable treating conditions from adjustment disorder to depression, to anxiety, and substance use, in addition to some Serious Mental Illnesses.
I like to create a safe, non-judgmental, and warm space where both the client and myself are exploring issues in an authentic manner once trust has been established.
As a practicing Social Worker for more than twenty years, I've had the opportunity to work as a therapist twice in two different settings; both provided me with extraordinary first-hand accounts, in addition to my own lived experience, of how resilient individuals are and can move forward with their lives, despite living with certain diagnoses and experiencing many challenges and setbacks. These two jobs provided me with the insight, knowledge, and sense of reward that, as a practitioner, is not seen too often from beginning to end in other areas of Social Work practice.
Goal setting depends on the client's need and what kind of outcome they desire.
To complete an assessment, review the issues that are affecting you and map out a course to address them at your own pace in your own voice.
