My Approach to Helping
I received my B.S. degree from Kent State University, my M.A. degree from John Carroll University, and my Ph.D. from The Ohio State University. My experiences have allowed me to become a versatile and accomplished professional with over 40 years of accumulated skills developed across a variety of roles, including public school teacher, school counselor, supervisor of special education programs, director of pupil personnel services, assistant principal, and adjunct professor at the college level. Throughout my career, I have maintained a private practice of psychology working with adolescents, adults, families, and businesses. I describe my therapeutic style and approaches to providing therapy as being somewhat eclectic but primarily solution-focused and cognitive behavioral in nature. With a clear awareness of the diverse backgrounds and varied needs of my valued clients and their unique circumstances, my goal is to work collaboratively with my clients to empower them with the ability to realize their full potential by helping them to live healthier, more fulfilling lives via professional, innovative, practical, trusted, affordable, and personalized mental health care. A lofty goal, but together, we can make it happen! Asking for help is one of the wisest and bravest things a person can do. I look forward to working with you in navigating life’s stressors and challenges. Personally, I have been happily married for 26 years and am the parent of a blended family of 6 adult children.
