My Approach to Helping
Are you ready to resolve uncomfortable emotions and become content in life? I am excited to learn about those with whom I work, and I truly enjoy empowering individuals while also learning from them. Life can be a struggle at times. I advocate hope for those who come into therapy, who I believe are courageous. My therapeutic approach combines non-judgmental attitudes with compassion. My philosophy is to challenge individuals to increase their self-confidence to successfully navigate their lives. I believe that providing clients with the skills that fit their needs can have a truly effective outcome. With over 30 years of experience as an Independent Mental Health Practitioner and Drug and Alcohol counselor, I have successfully partnered with people to assist with trauma, anxiety, major mental illness, bipolar, relationship issues, and addictions. I believe in treating individuals with a combination of empathy, compassion, and safety. I have worked with military members and their families. I believe holistic practice is an important aspect of wellness, incorporating both mental and physical exploration. I am a client-centered therapist, focused on individual needs while providing empathy, and sometimes added humor. In my free time, I enjoy kayaking, walking in nature, weight lifting, yoga, and painting.
