My Approach to Helping
I am a Texas-licensed professional counselor and a National Board Certified Counselor. I hold a Master of Education in counseling degree from Sam Houston State University. Prior to serving clients in the private practice setting, I worked in the education field for 17 years. I witnessed the increasing need for access to quality mental health care during my years as a school counselor. It is my mission to provide authentic and exceptional therapy to the community.
I am also a military spouse who understands the unique culture and challenges of an unpredictable lifestyle. I work with adults, teens, and children on issues such as anxiety, depression, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), life transitions, day-to-day stressors, and more.
I am passionate about helping people through life’s challenges and transitions to achieve the overall happiness they deserve. Clients can expect to be met with unconditional positive regard in a relaxing space. I welcome humor into the therapy process and want my clients to feel comfortable sharing their true selves. My approach is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused theories. I recognize the courage it takes to reach out for help. I consider it an honor to walk through this journey with my clients.
In her spare time, I enjoy the beach and gather inspiration from the ocean waves. Tides change and things go in different directions. You can ride the waves you can’t control and learn to move with them. I also cherish my family time spent with my husband of 20+ years, my son who attends the University of North Texas, and my daughter who is in high school. I look forward to working with you!
