My Approach to Helping
Hello! In therapy, I try to help people build lives that they find meaningful and fulfilling. I have experience working with people struggling with depression, suicidal thinking, post-traumatic stress, relationship and existential crises, and many other issues. I find that I connect especially well with men and members of the LGBTQ community, but of course I am happy to meet and speak with anyone needing support.
I believe good therapy comes from a mutually authentic connection between clinician and client, which allows for trust; there isn’t good treatment without trust. I try to understand both the client's short term needs and their larger goals in an effort to make that trusting connection.
I also know that getting good therapy can be incredibly challenging. Finding the right fit, finding the right insurance situation, overcoming the apprehension... I understand and I'll keep it in mind if you decide to come talk. Please let me know if I can make your process smoother. All the best.
