My Approach to Helping
I am here to help you through this part of your journey. I am available to listen and allow you to be heard, understood, and validated. I want to help you make positive changes to feel better and have a different outlook on life.
I will use various approaches tailored to your needs, so your session will be unique to you. Approaches may include Cognitive Based Therapy, Coaching, Motivational Interviewing, Compassion Focused, Person-Centered, Solution Focused. I am available to work with adults and adolescents. You can count on me to provide an accepting and nurturing environment where you will have the opportunity to express yourself.
When working with clients, you can expect a friendly and inviting environment. I will try to ensure you feel safe and able to express yourself freely. Most clients report enjoying their sessions as they feel comfortable.
I decided to become a therapist after working for several years with children who experienced some sort of trauma in their lives. After I began working with children, I started to work with adults and saw the need to offer my assistance and help empower a client so they may be able to make the changes necessary in their lives.
I approach goal setting as working as team, I may offer suggestions, however, the client has the ultimate decision-making power.
During our first session, I will allow the clients to talk about anything they may want to talk about and allow for questions and feedback. The first session is really about getting to know each other and how we may work together for a common goal.
