My Approach to Helping
I am a Certified Bioenergetic Therapist and have been in practice for more than thirty years. Bioenergetics is a mind/body therapy. I believe each of us is a unique individual - we need to be heard and deeply understood in our struggle to be ourselves and to move beyond the limitations our historical or current experiences impose on us. The Bioenergetic approach integrates verbal communication with active physical work - bodywork - which enhances the therapeutic process. I will help you to be more in touch with your feelings, more confident in your impulses, and provide you with tools to mobilize yourself toward what you most deeply desire. The therapeutic journey is profound and can lead us to places we often only dream about. Embodying ourselves leads us to stand independently in the world and allows us to know who we are and to relate to others from a more genuine, felt place. I look forward to hearing from you and exploring possibilities.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
Coming from a professional background in the performing arts, I am often sought by people who need help with self-expression, performance anxiety, or artistic issues. I am also skilled with relationship issues such as dating, marital difficulties, divorce, and loss, as well as anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. The Bioenergetic, mind/body approach in which I work allows me to help people across a broad range of issues. In my more than thirty years of experience, I have been honored to know many wonderful people who have taken on the human struggle to be true to themselves and to live full and meaningful lives.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Psychotherapy is a deep educational process. We learn by feeling and knowing ourselves. Allowing ourselves to be heard and seen by an experienced professional opens endless possibilities for life's journey. The therapeutic process can be short and focused, like getting through a crisis, or can unfold over a period of time in which we move into the depths of ourselves to grow as individuals.
