My Approach to Helping
As a therapist, I work for you--you are the expert on you. I will help you discover the answers and solutions that will help you grow, bring you peace, or set you free. My goal is to provide you with a safe space to be your authentic self, to feel your true feelings, and to say whatever you need to say--all without judgment. I promise compassion and understanding as we work together to rebuild, and sometimes begin to build, on your strengths, talents, courage, and spirit--the first steps in discovering the wonderful, beautiful, powerful person you have always been.
My own healing journey shapes my approach with compassion, empathy, and insights--all without judgment. We will work together to find the approach that best fits you and meets your needs, goals, and unique situation. Changing our lives begins with the strength and courage to seek help--together we can work towards that change you are seeking.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
My passion is working with women in transition or those struggling with relationships, self-esteem, emotinal pain, abuse, military life, or a feeling of being stuck or lost. I believe my experience and lessons learned as a daughter, military wife, mother, single parent, grandmother, and friend help me to connect with clients and deepen my understanding of the challenges facing women in particular. Through my travels and having lived several years overseas, I see how women, no matter the culture or social status, share a common bond in how they relate to other women and in the challenges they face in relationship, family, society, and the work place.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
Therapy is all about the relationship between you and the therapist. Just like the first time you meet someone and you have a good feeling about them or a sense that you already know each other, that's the feeling you look for when interviewing for a therapist...and you should interview a few. It doesn't take but a few minutes to know that you can feel comfortable talking with them, that you feel heard and understood. Therapy is not about the psychological theroies or approaches, it's about the theraputic relationship and feeling safe and accepted while exposing your truest and deepest self.
