My Approach to Helping
Over the past 30 years, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from all walks of life. My approach is grounded in a deep respect for the individual human spirit and a true belief in the therapeutic relationship as a means to create a sense of possibility in life and a desire to move forward. We all have the answers to those challenging questions within us. My hope is to facilitate this process of recovery.
More Info About My Practice
In addition to my practice in psychotherapy, I am a lecturer on topics such as posttraumatic stress (PTSD), and the history and psychobiology of trauma and its treatment. I supervise therapists and psychologists individually and in groups. I also provide presentations and conduct workshops both nationally and internationally.
My Therapy Focus
Each person brings their unique qualities to the therapeutic relationship. With this in mind, I draw upon a variety of approaches including psychoanalysis, relational psychotherapy, self psychology, focusing, group therapy and spiritual psychotherapy. I believe that the challenges that come up for us are messages from the deeper parts of ourselves. My hope is to bring forth all those inner parts that desire a voice and to create a sense of freedom and greater insight.
