My Approach to Helping
I am a Registered Psychologist who provides individual counselling to adults, in the areas of work-life stress, trauma, difficulties managing emotions and troubling thoughts, body concerns, identity, relationship problems, communication difficulties, guilt-shame, grief, and perfectionism.
In counselling sessions, I start with a person-centred approach that involves collaboration, goal setting, empathic understanding, and attention to process and the therapeutic relationship. Subsequently, I apply an emotion-focused or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach. When fitting, I incorporate hope research that is multicultural-informed.
