My Approach to Helping

A safe, honest, and compassionate approach to therapy is essential to anyone's healing and learning process. Years of personal, professional, and educational experience has shaped who I am and has helped me develop as a successful, proactive, and client-centered therapist.

I have extensive experience and advanced training in working with individuals and couples who are facing difficulties stemming from conflict, stress and anxiety, sadness and depression, parenting concerns, relationship concerns, and more. As a team, we will work together to help you productively manage conflicts and build strong communication skills. Relationship counseling can help you appreciate your relationship's strengths and gently navigate through its vulnerabilities. Whether you are seeking counseling because of common issues, such as anger, sadness or communication struggles to more uncommon concerns, I am here to help.

More Info About My Practice

My interest in the field of marriage and family began over 20 years ago when I took my first undergraduate psychology course in Adolescence and Young Adulthood. This course fueled my passion for psychology and I began working with children, teens, and families at a crisis center, enrolled in a graduate program for marriage and family therapy, and even became a school psychologist. My enthusiasm for this field has continued to grow and working with teens and families still holds a special place in my practice.

My clients can expect a sincere, respectful, and peaceful environment from the moment they begin their work with me. At times, therapy sessions may be emotionally demanding and difficult; however, therapy can bring about incredible positive transformations.

I am committed to being the best therapist I can be and have trained with some of the most innovative psychologists and therapists in the field. My clients have expressed appreciation for my genuine warmth, sense of humor, non-judgmental attitude, and insight. It is a tremendous honor to be considered by you as a potential therapist. I wish you the best on your journey.

My Role as a Therapist

I am a direct and proactive therapist. You can expect genuine and honest feedback in an environment of compassion and respect. I will provide you with communication tools and relationship tools essential to building a healthy connection and loving bond in your relationships. Many clients have expressed they find our work together an asset to their personal growth, interpersonal relationships, family concerns, and relationship or marriage issues. It is my goal for you to feel the benefit of therapy whereby you will receive direct feedback and instruction during every session to support you as you gain insight about your relationship's unique strengths and challenges.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

We all experience challenging situations in life, and while you may have successfully navigated through difficulties you've faced in the past, there is nothing wrong with seeking out extra support. In fact, I believe therapy is for people like you, who have enough self-awareness and wisdom to realize you may need a helping hand, and I believe it is something to be admired. You are taking responsibility by accepting where you are in life and making a commitment to improve your situation. Therapy provides long-lasting benefits. It is my job to help you implement the tools to overcome whatever challenge you face.
