My Approach to Helping

I believe every individual is different and therefore there is not one approach that fits all people and all challenges. Therapy is a puzzle of trying to understand the core issues that need to be addressed, finding out the clients goals and then helping the client uncover their strengths which they will use to overcome adversity.

More Info About My Practice

I provide compassionate therapy for change, helping clients move from merely surviving to thriving. It is challenging coming into therapy and my first goal is to help the client feel safe and comfortable so that we are able to work quickly and efficiently to meet all of the clients goals.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

Therapy has many different purposes and it is different for everyone. The most important role of therapy for someone to help them develop active goals to help them feel they are living their life at their best.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

Being a psychologist is my passion because there is nothing more rewarding than helping someone reach their goals and feeling better about themselves and their life.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Because the role of therapy is so diverse, there are no issues that you should feel uncomfortable bringing into a therapist. People have given me feedback that it is a huge relief at the beginning of treatment to have someone and someplace safe to talk about their challenges. No matter how large or small the issues may be, therapy is a safe place to develop goals and strategies to begin feeling better.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

Just like all people seeking therapy are different, so are all therapists. There are two very important factors in finding a therapist that is a good fit for you. First, you have to feel comfortable with the therapist. Without feeling comfortable, you will have a hard time opening up and being honest and vulnerable. Secondly, it is imperative to find someone with the training and credentials to help you in the areas you need to focus on.
