My Approach to Helping
What if you knew your greatest pain was also your greatest teacher? Find love on the other side of loss...
Loss is perhaps the most universal human experience, yet it can feel extremely isolating (adding to the suffering). I am a spiritual depth psychotherapist who holds a sacred container for individual adults to move through grief in all its various forms. Whether it was the death of a loved one; or the death of a relationship, job, hope, experience, expectation, or dream; it's all loss, and it all deserves to be grieved. I believe that heart break can lead to the most profound heart opening: I have experienced this personally, and I've had the honor of witnessing it time and again in my work. By moving through the pain of our losses, we can also discover the most precious pearls of wisdom, connection, compassion, joy, and greater love for ourselves and all of existence.
My style is warm and inviting, highly empathic, interactive and playful. With careful attention and curiousity, together we will explore all dimensions of your being. This often includes exploring early experiences, memories, dreams, fears, beliefs, values, bodily sensations, and perhaps experiences you've had in non-ordinary states of consciousness.
When we allow ourselves to fully experience the pain of loss, and be witnessed and held in that experience, love lies just on the other side. Love and loss are two sides of the same coin. Contact me now to get started. I can't wait to meet you.
More Info About My Practice
I prefer to meet weekly (I will hold a special spot for you; same day and time each week). I am therefore unable to schedule sessions every other week. I firmly believe the consistency of weekly meetings has a tremendous impact of the effectiveness of our work together. Some of my clients come twice a week. The more time you put into your therapy, the more you will get out of it.
I am not on any insurance panels. You will be responsible for full payment at the time of service. I accept all major credit cards, HSA and FSA cards, and payments through Zelle or check if you come in person. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with a form called a superbill you can submit to your insurance on your own for possible reimbursement. Please keep in mind that I cannot guarantee any reimbursement by your insurance company.
I do have a limited sliding scale, especially for folks who need to come twice weekly, but are unable to at my full fee.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
It was absolutely my own struggles that led me to become a psychotherapist. In shamanic traditions, shamans were "initiated" by traveling into the underworld: to be able to visit unknown, terrifying spaces and find their way out again. This is also known as the archetype of the "Wounded Healer." Navigating through my own painful experiences and losses has made me deeply empathic to the struggles of others. I have devoted my life to making meaning out of suffering, and I cannot imagine anything more fulfilling. I don't see my work as a job, but as a calling. It would be my absolute honor to accompany you on your journey. I hope to hear from you today!
