My Approach to Helping

My name is Sara Ruiter (sheher) and I am so glad you are here. I am a passionate advocate for women and LGBTQIA+ youth and adults. I provide a combination of expertise, nurturing warmth, and a safe space to be both curious and kind towards yourself. Life is unpredictable and often messy. Distressing events including relationship challenges, life transitions, and past or current trauma often require extra support. This is normal. I would be honored to walk alongside you in developing meaningful strategies toward healing and peace.

Our work will focus on exploring those tender places in your life. We will investigate them with gentleness and respect. We will also discover and practice (imperfectly) new skills for growth and healing. Together we will discover the wealth of resources that already exist inside of you.

I believe that you are the expert in your own life. I also believe life is often hard. Sadness, anxiety, fear, and loneliness are normal and to-be-expected aspects of this journey. The good news is that we do not have to do it alone. Whatever challenges you're facing, I will meet you there and help you find clarity, healing, and peace.

Groups I Work With

I am especially interested and enjoy working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as women in transition (meaning women who are "transitioning" through different stages of life). This includes women going through: adolescence, pregnancy, postpartum, marriage, divorce, remarriage, job change, job loss, perimenopause, menopause, etc.
