My Approach to Helping

You may be seeking therapy to ease the pain of depression, anxiety, trauma, or loss or because you are struggling with relationships and other interpersonal issues. Maybe something just does not “feel right,” preventing you from moving forward. Perhaps you are challenged by existential questions and wish to explore your identity and sense of purpose or find greater meaning in your life. Whatever brings you here, I already know that you possess the courage to seek help, the hope that your life can be better, and the capacity to both heal and improve your quality of life.

What is causing you pain or holding you back may be a known challenge or problem or an unexamined part of yourself or your story that, left unspoken, causes you to feel stuck. My integrated work combines relational, experiential (AEDP), and insight-oriented approaches. I find it especially rewarding to help clients overcome the loneliness of not having full access to their emotions, which, when identified, experienced, and explored together, can be transformative. I believe that a trusting relationship with a therapist who is truly present is a powerful catalyst for healing, developing more self-compassion, and enhancing relationships outside of therapy. I am a deep, empathic listener, and clients tell me that they feel “heard” and “understood” and that they appreciate my warmth and sense of humor. It is rewarding when my clients become as curious about themselves as I am about them, and I experience joy when I can help them realize strengths they may not have known they possess.

It is a privilege to accompany my clients on the journey toward knowing themselves better, being able to reflect on their history with greater understanding, and living more authentic and fulfilled lives without the burden of self-limiting narratives. I look forward to exploring with you new ways of being and feeling and uncovering your innate capacity to heal and grow.
