My Approach to Helping

Are you feeling stuck? Are you feeling this push and pull between wanting to move forward, but also feeling frozen in time? Together, we’ll untangle some of those webs, identify what’s holding you back, and find ways to live a more meaningful, fulfilling life.

I’m not your traditional, stoic type of therapist. My style is more laid back and personable, which allows for meaningful connection and exploration. I take a person-centered, holistic approach that’s tailored around your needs, values, and belief systems. Therefore, I pull from several therapeutic modalities that will help you address unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaving, understand how your past impacts you today, and be more present in your life.

I expect clients to show up as their authentic selves. Therefore, I’ll also show up as my authentic self. I’ll laugh with you, keep you accountable, and hold space for you when challenging emotions come to the surface. While I maintain my professional and ethical boundaries, you’ll definitely see my human come out.

The majority of healing happens within the therapeutic relationship. I’ll walk alongside you on your way to your self-actualization.

More Info About My Practice

My core values are authenticity, openness, and community. While I do believe we are responsible for our own healing, I also believe there are societal and systemic barriers to growth that need to be explored.

Growing up in both individualistic and collectivistic cultures, I’ve seen the harmful aspects of the Western Individualistic culture and the great need for community and interpersonal healing spaces. Therefore, I am a huge supporter of spaces that allow for group and community work.

As a queer woman, I also support and encourage exclusive LGBTQ+ safe spaces that allow individuals to process and explore their experiences openly. I am also a strong supporter of destigmatizing addiction and using harm-reduction techniques.

Groups I Work With

I work with people who feel alienated, or like they don't belong. Addiction, substance use disorders, and trauma are special interests of mine. Since I’m a queer therapist with a mixed background, I also align well with individuals in the LGBTQ+ community, or who are struggling with their cultural identities.
