My Approach to Helping

Whether you are experiencing anxiety, stress, relationship issues, coping with trauma, wondering if the world has gone mad, seeking answers to spiritual or existential questions, or pursuing personal growth, I will work hard to empower you. Together, we will explore, clarify, and address issues at the root of your concerns, clearing a path towards inner peace.

I have over 16 years of expertise in residential and outpatient settings at one of the foremost South Bay addiction treatment centers. Although I have specialized in treating substance use disorders, I also have significant experience working with patients experiencing co-occurring anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and other mental health challenges.

Whatever you might be experiencing right now, my heart goes out to you. Life can really suck. At times, seemingly impossible to “figure out”. Through my own life experiences and clinical work, I have experienced and witnessed profound suffering. Through all of that, I’ve learned there is a way. Reach out. I’d love to hear from you and help you find that way.

More Info About My Practice

I work from a systems worldview, informed by psychoanalytic, emotionally-focused, and transpersonal approaches. I weave mindfulness with other evidence-based practices. I fully believe in your ability to heal and will assist you on your journey towards wholeness. How that looks depends on the individualsystem but folks I work with attest to experiencing hope, healing, and positive transformation.

A few more details that might of interest. I'm a former refugee from genocide, came to the USA at age 15 and a half. I've a BA in Physics from Reed (thesis in biophysics), worked as a software engineer in Portland, OR for 4 yrs, and came to the Bay Area to get a Dr in Clinical Psychology, with an aim to integrate spirituality, psychology, and science. For the past 16+ years, I have been working with folks struggling with addiction and numerous dual diagnoses, most of whom are within the criminal justice system. I am also the current president of the Association for Transpersonal Psychology, have been certified in basics of Org Design and Transformation, and have traveled extensively in Arizona and the Four Corners area, led by a spiritual calling. Reach out if any of this resonates, or if you are just curious to explore further.
