My Approach to Helping
You are here because you want something different for yourself, to find possibilities where you feel stuck. As much as you feel capable in certain areas of your life, your inability to solve thisthese issue(s) or feelings makes you doubt yourself, and you feel like a liability in your own life.
I strive to create a safe place to explore these challenging feelings and actions, the stress they cause, and how they originated and perpetuate in your life. My passion is to streamline effective ways for both of us to understand the issue(s) and the underlying reasons that the issues continue to thrive. To that end, I am certified in Neural Emotional Technique. I utilize a mindbody approach because stress does not just live in your mind. Some other therapeutic techniques I draw upon are CBT, Internal Family Systems, Attachment theory, Gestalt, and Mindfulness, with humor sprinkled in.
Before becoming a Licensed Associate Counselor, I had a career as an artist whose subject matter focused on people (often portraits). I was fortunate to have discovered this gift early, and it taught me many lessons about creating, emotional expression, paying attention to underlying truths, communicating so that an idea was understood, and, most importantly, being open and flexible to all solutions. I use this different perspective to best support my clients.
