My Approach to Helping
I am a partner at Leek Therapy. My focus is primarily on adult populations and I have experience with anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, posttraumatic stress (PTSD), and bipolar as well as stressors such as major life transitions, grief/loss, relationships, and family dynamics. My work has included de-escalation strategies to help manage anger and emotional control. As an LADC in addition to being an LMHC, I'm comfortable working with clients in early recovery and detox to help manage the challenges that come with sobriety. I'm prepared to help both those who just need a little guidance and support and those struggling with much more serious problems.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychological Science from Fitchburg State University, a Master's Degree in Psychological Counseling from Northeastern University, an MBA, and specialty certifications. So, lots of letters after my name. But I'm also kind, open, caring, and funny, all that education supports my wish to help people on a personal level.
My approach is client-centered with an emphasis on motivational interviewing and talk therapy. My goal is to build trust and rapport so that clients can have open, honest conversations about their thoughts, feelings, and struggles and I work to provide a framework for clients to make positive changes in their lives.
