My Approach to Helping
Mutual trust and respect are key components of successful therapy. I see therapy as a collaborative process. It's not my job to tell you I have all the answers and you don't. Instead, as we get to know one another, I'll listen, learn, explore, discuss, and remember what you say to establish a high degree of trust and respect. From there, I'll begin to challenge you. We'll collaborate to reduce the barriers you face to making healthy changes.
Discussing sensitive issues can be very difficult. I therefore strive to ensure all individuals I meet with are comfortable. Although I specialize in substance abuse, anger management, and anxiety, I aim to take a person centered approach allowing the individual to explore concernssuccesses as they come up in session. Speaking with someone free of judgment can lay the foundation for growth. Although this may seem scary at first, believing you can is the first step. If unsure of what your next step is, please feel free to email or call me. I'd be happy to assist you
