My Approach to Helping
Driven by a lifelong fascination with human behavior and a desire to make a tangible difference, I became a therapist to guide individuals towards a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the world. My approach uniquely blends the practicality of evidence-based behavioral therapy with the ancient wisdom of Stoic philosophy. This powerful combination empowers clients to cultivate resilience, self-awareness, and lasting positive change.
My Approach
As a curious and insightful mediator, I create a collaborative and supportive space where we can explore your challenges and identify the changes you desire. My approach is secular, meaning I work with you from a neutral standpoint regarding religion and spirituality, respecting your individual beliefs and values without imposing my own. I believe in fostering a therapeutic environment where you feel comfortable and understood, regardless of your worldview. I specialize in helping adults navigate a range of concerns, including ADHD, men’s issues, stress management, relationship difficulties, and the unique pressures of college life. My goal is to provide practical tools and evidence-based strategies to help you achieve your goals and live a more fulfilling life, all within the context of your own personal values and beliefs.
My solution-focused approach is active and engaging. I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapies, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, hypnosis, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), and emotional freedom techniques (EFT). We’ll work together to understand the patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, developing practical strategies to replace unhelpful habits with those that serve you better. Drawing upon behavior principles, we’ll cultivate skills in emotional regulation, mindfulness, and acceptance, building a foundation for greater inner peace and resilience in the face of life’s challenges.
Who I work with
I work with individuals who recognize that many factors contribute to the experiences we have in life, including how we think, feel, act, the environment we’re in, and the people around us. Suppressing or avoiding challenges prevents them from being addressed. I don’t work with those who just want to vent about their problems; I work with those willing to make changes to achieve different results. This may involve setting healthy boundaries, navigating conflict, or learning to respond rather than react. I don’t tell people what to do or share what has worked for others – I collaborate with you to find what works best for you and your situation.
