My Approach to Helping
Are you struggling through a major transition, life change, or loss? I am passionate in supporting my clients through these significant and painful life events, such as the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, becoming a parent, moving cross country, or starting a new job. In therapy, I also help my clients to understand themselves more authentically, to shift unhelpful patterns or behaviors, to learn how to manage and tolerate intense emotions, and to develop deeper meaning or connection in their lives. I particularly love working with young adults, college and graduate students, moms and dads, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
Past clients have described me as genuine, easy to talk to, and non-judgmental. Creating a safe, trusting space for you in therapy is my highest priority. I integrate relational psychodynamic therapy with DBT and CBT skills. Depending on your needs, this could include tools for managing anxiety, depression, or anger, or learning new communication strategies.
I know that it takes immense courage to share your story with others. Therefore, I aim to make therapy feel comfortable and safe for you. I also strongly believe that sharing your story and still being accepted as human is one of the most healing and life-changing aspects of therapy. I invite you to reach out to me to see if we might be a good fit.
