My Approach to Helping
Feeling lost and unsure about how to help your child, teen or yourself as a caregiver? Whether you're the one giving care or receiving it, the feeling of being overwhelmed is a common experience in today’s times!
Perhaps you're witnessing your child's escalating tantrums, your teen's involvement in risky behaviours, or your struggle with anxiety. Healing Wolf Therapy is here to help you find healing through compassion and connection.
Hi, I'm Sonia. I'm a passionate mental health therapist registered with the Manitoba College of Social Workers (MCSW) and the founder of Healing Wolf Therapy. As a trauma survivor and a mother, I bring a unique understanding of life's challenges to my practice. Healing is not a solitary journey; it thrives in connection. Trauma and other mental health challenges can disconnect us from ourselves, others, and the world, but through genuine, caring relationships, we can begin to heal. This belief is at the heart of my work.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in trauma-informed care, deep compassion, a strong client-therapist connection and a welcoming place for everyone. I integrate evidence-based therapies, including play, art therapies, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) customizing them to address your specific needs.
When we meet, it’s going to be a judgment free place where you can be yourself, explore your feelings and experiences, talk about what's going on, and gradually develop new perspectives. We'll talk, I'll listen, and we'll figure things out together. I'll be here for you every step of the way, offering professional support and believing in you.
