My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia and Arizona, and I am a Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP) in Virginia as well. In addition, I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Certified Clinical Telemental Health Provider (CTMH). I am experienced in providing services to individuals, couples, families, and groups for a variety of mental health and chemical dependency issues. I graduated from Liberty University with a Master of Arts in Counseling, and hold an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. I began my career working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual trauma in a non-profit setting and have worked in private practice settings as well as within hospital systems, both for inpatient and outpatient services. My clinical approach is based on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). However, I believe in meeting people where they are, and utilize a variety of techniques to help clients achieve positive changes in their lives.
