My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in Northeast Ohio and seeing clients throughout the state via telehealth. I work with adolescents and adults specializing in stress, depression, anxiety, and trauma. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients find positive solutions to start feeling better.
My therapeutic approach is client-centered and based on each client's unique needs. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients develop skills to change their thinking in order to promote improved cognitive functioning.
I have found that my approach is effective for teens and adults struggling with the challenges and stressors of life, which take the forms of depression, anxiety, stress, and trauma. I worked to help my clients build the skills to navigate the challenges of life, to feel better about themselves, and to develop a more positive outlook.
My communication style is calm, soft-spoken, and reassuring. I help clients to feel relaxed and comfortable talking to me and to listen without judgment.
I decided to become a therapist because I have always felt called to help other people. I have always been drawn to helping other people through difficult times and enjoy seeing them overcome their challenges.
My approach to goal setting with clients is to identify their strengths, their needs, and their goals for treatment. We work together to develop achievable goals and identify steps toward success.
In our first session, you can expect us to assess how you have been feeling recently, and we will work to learn about you in order to identify how I can best help you. The first session is about getting to know each other, building a connection, and getting a sense of where we will go.
