My Approach to Helping
Making that first contact is the hardest part... I hope to make it very easy, by welcoming and inviting you.
People may seek out counseling due to a wide variety of feelings: fear, anxiety, stress, depression, anger, sadness, confusion, apathy, heartbreak, grief, or any other aspect of the incredibly complex human experience. I consider it a privilege to help you on your journey towards emotional recovery and growth. Finances are a concern for most people, so I try to keep costs reasonable and affordable.
I enjoy working with those of any faith, but also those who do not identify with any faith. I am also a proud ally and supporter of the LGBT extended community and both comfortable and enthusiastic working with LGBT individuals and couples and the unique issues you face.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I was a healthcare executive for 15 years, in both non-profit and corporate roles, before becoming a therapist. I am well versed and comfortable in communicating with people about their occupations and goals, and helping people find their correct "place" in the work world.
I have a particular fondness for couples therapy for spouses and romantic partners that are experiencing emotional or sexual disharmony. I truly enjoy helping couples become better and more successful. It doesn't have to be this way. You can be emotionally and sexually intimate again, even after infidelity.
They say communication is key to a good relationship, but that's not the whole story. Lots of couples talk frequently, even repetitively, without actually getting anything accomplished. I am excited to help couples learn how to talk effectively to one another, and stop having the same arguments over and over.
Sex is a natural and healthy part of a romantic relationship. It doesn't have to be embarrassing or frustrating, or a struggle. Sex with your partner should be a fulfilling experience that leaves both people happier and more satisfied afterwards. I often tell my clients sex is the "canary in the coalmine" for relationships. Listen to the early warning and get help.
