My Approach to Helping
I specialize in anxiety, panic, chronic worry, and phobias. I work with tweens, teens, and adults in both individual and group therapy. My passion for providing therapy to others grew from my own past struggles with anxiety and fear. You or your child does not have to live with being bullied or imprisoned by fear or worry.
My approach as a therapist is collaborative, non-judgmental, and strengths-based. I draw upon both Eastern and Western approaches including Narrative and Solution-Focused Therapies and Mindfulness and Mindfulness-based therapies. I also embrace and incorporate the concepts of neuropsychology and generative mindbody attunement.
I have been a student of both mindfulness and meditation for over ten years and have facilitated Mindfulness and Mindfulness Meditation groups, Mindbody Attunement and Visualization groups for Creative Blocks, and ACT on Anxiety groups, based on the principles of Acceptance Commitment Therapy.
Previously, I interned in the Postmodern Program at Phillips Counseling Center where I saw adults, teens, couples, and did group work. I also trained at a trauma-focused community health center that helped clients with trauma and trauma-based issues. Before earning my Masters degree in Psychology from Chapman University, I completed a MS in Library and Information Science from Florida State University and a BA in English and Creative Writing.
Your therapy session is your time, and together, we will focus on your needs and desires and help you transform your struggles into self-empowerment and joy.
It's time to manage your life not your anxiety!
