My Approach to Helping
I am an experienced LCSW (CA & NY) providing short and long-term psychotherapy to individuals, couple, and family. I am trained and practice in Attachment Focused-EMDR, Psychodynamic Therapy, Emotional Focus Therapy, Trauma Informed Model, Internal Family System, Mindfulness, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Advanced Training in Child and Family Therapy. Each therapeutic relationship is unique. I provide a non-judgmental, culturally sensitive, confidential, and supportive environment to work with people.
Integration of therapeutic interventions that tailor clients strengths, needs and their preferences are my emphasis. The best result often is a collaborative effort. I am familiar with using the trauma framework (PTSD or complex trauma, developmental, & generational pain), somatic experiencing, polyvagal theory, attachment injury, and psychodynamic work. We work on our parts, trauma responses, brain function and nervous system in relation to mental health, emotions and behaviors. In couple and family relationship, we start with issues, create insight on deeper need and insecurity that create conflicts. We help each other to see the vulnerability and acceptance. We practice communication that speaks for the true self longing for secured attachment and independency.
