My Approach to Helping
When life feels like a struggle, psychotherapy can help. Especially for those times when you sense that your best self or your goals are getting blocked by things like worry, conflict, negative beliefs, anxiety, frustration, depression, difficult life experiences or transitions, overwhelm, unhealthy habits, or a health condition. I have over 10 years of experience in supporting people who want to address these types of blockages and find ways to create more ease and openness in their lives and in their relationships. I use approaches that increase awareness and understanding, reduce stress, and empower people to become their best selves.
As a health psychologist I have a very good understanding of the interrelationships between stress, emotions, mind and body. Although I have extensive training in how to reduce stress and minimize its impact, I see my main task as getting to know you and understand what brings you in. Over time, as you talk and make yourself known to me, you are likely to develop a deeper curiosity about yourself and a better understanding of what you think you want to change in your life. That is where we can work together to see where you might be getting stuck. Change can be optimized through regular meetings with a well-trained and experienced guide who can encourage you to explore your patterns, thoughts, feelings and behaviors in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
