My Approach to Helping

Greetings! My name is Tasha Fortenberry and I am a licensed clinical social worker. My approach to therapy is person-centered where I explore what is unique to each client in their pursuit of using therapy as a healing tool. My focus area of practice is individual therapy with adults.

More Info About My Practice

My communication style would be described as empathic, humorous, and honest. I always tell my clients that I "listen with 2 ears" meaning that I listen in such a way that my clients validate how I provide a new perspective of what they have shared in sessions. For my clients that have seen other therapists before, they have told me that I ask them questions that have never been asked before which they express appreciation for. My clients have expressed that my therapeutic style is helpful in positively challenging them to think differently about who they thought they were.
