My Approach to Helping
As a therapist, specializing in couples and relationship issues, I aim to create a curious, reflective, and nonjudgmental atmosphere where clients can join together to cultivate a happier, healthier connection. Many couples struggle with ongoing conflict and communication issues before seeking therapy. And while these rifts are a normal part of relationships, they can cause couples to lose their sense of intimacy and vulnerability if left unprocessed.
Though I work with both individuals and couples throughout northeast Texas, my areas of specialty include couples communication issues, premarital counseling, infidelity, family therapy, as well as individual issues like anxiety, depression, postpartum symptoms, codependency, and low self-esteem.
My approach blends family system-specific therapy-including the highly effective model of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)-to help couples and families understand each other’s inner and outer worlds and change relational dynamics. Additionally, I draw in elements of Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Polyvagal Theory to slow down the stress response and reshape perspectives.
