My Approach to Helping

A good therapist helps you find the answers to your own questions and works with you to remove the blockages to creating and living the life that you want. I challenge my clients in a warm direct way that allows for empowerment towards health, happiness, meaning, and purpose. \"Issues\" that you come into therapy to resolve will be used as a platform for personal growth that will leave you feeling better than before you considered starting therapy.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

What I love most about being a therapist is that I get to continually explore the human condition. I am an existentialist and I enjoy the process of discovering and creating meaning and purpose in our lives. Sitting with clients as a therapist continually allows me the opportunity to grow. I can't facilitate your exploration of the depth of your soul and psyche without doing my own work. I love the connection an bond that I create with my clients as we explore, together, what it means be a human and live a fulfilled life.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

One of my favorite intellectual mentors, Rollo May, describes people who come into psychotherapy as those who are more sensitive than the rest of the population that have a harder time coping with the difficulties of life than most and that this is a GOOD THING! It means that you represent the shifts that our world and culture and needing so desperately and your consideration of how to live your life differently than the masses is a sign of intelligence.

Many people use a varieties of coping mechanisms that done work for them and they could benefit from therapy. If you're choosing to enter therapy than the part of you that is striving for health and wholeness is ready to emerge and life a that is awake and aware through the process of self-discovery we call therapypsychotherapycounseling.
