My Approach to Helping
I enjoy people and learning about their experiences. I am honored to be trusted to support your mental health needs. I aim to create a comfortable, safe, and collaborative setting that inspires healing.
I primarily use techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. I work with adults, couples, and families.
I create a space of comfort and safety where people can speak and be understood. I am easy to talk to, non-judgmental, supportive and interested in getting to know you. I use humor, metaphors, and personal experiences to connect and build rapport.
I became a therapist because I believe all people have the power to change. In getting to know others, I recognized that people need support and encouragement to move from their current position of pain towards a lifetime of happiness. Being a therapist is a calling and I am grateful for the opportunity to sit with people in their darkest moments and observe the transformations they make. I believe in educating others on their mental health and how their symptoms impact their body, mind, and actions.
Every patient is unique; therefore, I individualize treatment based on their specific needs. I value healing and happiness and understand that everyone gets there at their own pace. I teach others to develop insight into their problems, create solutions, and reflect on ways to prevent reoccurrences. My role is complete when a patient believes they are the best version of themselves and living to their fullest potential.
A first session with me includes getting to know you, your background, and your expectations as well as discuss any questions you may have about the therapy process.
