My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am a multimodal counselor that leads with a client-centered approach to allow the client to guide the session and determine the priority for our counseling and the goals. I started working in mental health back in 2015, and I have a vast experience working with a variety of clientele, both with adults and youth of all ages, with all kinds of traumas, substance use, depression, anxiety, bipolar, etc., and am eager to help my clients create the best lives possible for themselves.
I am a multimodal counselor and will adjust the theory as needed to meet the client’s needs. I implement client-centered in all of my sessions and allow the client to guide the session and determine what the goals and priorities should be.
I work with all kinds of populations and clientele. I work with adults, children, adolescents, with all sorts of mental health diagnoses, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar, anger management, couples counseling, PTSD, and substance use.
I create a warm, compassionate environment where my clients can feel safe, respected and heard.
Growing up, my family brought in foster children and I saw the suffering and pain they endured and the traumas they had undergone. I also saw my sister go through a difficult divorce and wanted to learn how to be there for others and help them overcome their struggles to have the best life possible for themselves. I might not be able to take the suffering away, but my hope is to be able to put a smile on your face and give you even just one good day.
Once the initial session is completed, I work with the clients to determine what their goals are and what they are hoping to get out of our sessions together. Then, together, we determine what steps need to be taken to help get those goals accomplished.
The first session with me is typically just collecting information to determine what the reason is for counseling and what the client’s goals are for our sessions.
