My Approach to Helping
Welcome to my page! I'm a licensed professional counselor in Texas. I bring cultural diversity and competency to each session. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help remove negative thoughts, self-blame, people-pleasing behaviors, and unhealthy thought patterns. I use solution-focused therapy to help you discover a new way to approach situations that trigger your emotions. I use Person-Centered therapy to aid you in finding the solutions on your own, which leave you feeling empowered.
I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, LGBTQ -related issues, trauma, abuse, and anger management. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion.
Often, we rely on our chosen family for support and guidance. I listen without judgment and place a huge emphasis on confidentiality. I acknowledge your emotions and provide a safe space to release these feelings. Our bodies were not meant to hold onto negative emotions for too long.
I became a therapist because I'm a holistic healer, and I didn't grow up seeing therapists that look like me. I've always been empathic in nature my whole life. I want to bring diversity to this field and hopefully break down the stigma that others have grown up with surrounding therapy.
I allow the client to set the goals they want to work on. I allow the clients to have control over their sessions and their progress.
During the first session, I explain the structure of the session, my approach, and I let the client share what they are comfortable sharing. A client can expect to come into a warm environment that allows them to feel at ease.
