My Approach to Helping

I honestly love my work. Working in LGBTQ+ mental health since 2013, I get to support clients with many different needs. A lot of my work focuses on: gender identity, medical and social gender transition, gender-affirming surgery prep & letters, coming out, self-esteem, HIVAIDS, nonmonogamy, kink, stigmadiscrimination, and building healthy relationships. My liberation-focused framework is collaborative, affirming, and intersectional. Beyond queer-specific issues, my focus also includes EMDR, trauma recovery, PTSD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, & recovery from unhealthynarcissistic relationships.

In my practice, I offer both EMDR (for those with trauma) and talk therapy (psychodynamic, CBT, ACT, attachment-focused). In traditional talk therapy, we'll note how your past impacts your present, and learn coping and communication tools together. In EMDR, we'll use special protocols & exercises to decrease triggers and trauma responses.

It is so important that you feel good about the therapist you end up working with (whether it's me or someone else!). Talking to different providers and getting a feel for their vibe is a great way to see what feels right for you. Feel free to set up a consultation call so we can chat and you can ask me any questions you might have.

Groups I Work With

While I work with a wide range of clients, I specialize in the following:

    1) Trans or gender non-conforming clients, LGBTQIA+ clients, polyamorous clients, or those affected by HIV. I am also highly experiences in providing assessments and letter-writing to clients pursuing gender-affirming medical care. I commonly work with clients exploring their gender identity as well as their spousesfamiliespartners who are navigating the changes alongside them.

    2) People affected by trauma. This includes people living with: PTSD, complex PTSD, depression, panic, anxiety, or flashbacks after unhealthy relationships, medical trauma, discrimination, dysphoria, lack of emotional support around your identity, or religious trauma.

    3) Neurodivergent adults. I especially tend to work with the Autistic and ADHD crowd on fostering self-acceptance and improving quality of life.

    4) Young professionals, people in the entertainment industry, students, and anyone navigating career development.
