My Approach to Helping
Are you ready to see yourself and life differently? My strength is connecting with people and helping them change their lives. Often deep listening from a caring, trusted person is enough for you to make new choices about your life.
Once you are comfortable that I am listening to you and that I can accept you for who you are, I may suggest different ways to look at your situation. Sometimes I will suggest that you try something new in your life, such as an unfamiliar approach to communicating with others or a mindfulness practice. Counseling is that simple. The glue that holds this together is my willingness to be present with whatever you are experiencing, whether that's sharing sadness or recognizing the humor in life's irony.
More Info About My Practice
I require payment in full at the time of service by check or credit card. My services are often reimbursable by your health insurance and I will provide you with an invoice so you can submit your own claims. I am out-of-network for all insurance plans.
New clients are expected to generally schedule counseling appointments at least once per week at first, so the benefits of counseling can build up steadily.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
I believe that everyone is fundamentally healthy and good, but that we all accumulate confusions and unhelpful habits that get in our way. My job as a counselor is to recognize your underlying strengths and catalyze you using them to create a rich, satisfying life. I want to help you be yourself more fully, more successfully.
