My Approach to Helping
You may be wondering if counseling is the best choice for you. It is not always a simple decision to begin therapy. You may be concerned with things such as fear of facing past painful memories, awkwardness, and potential judgment. During individual and couples therapy sessions, my hope is you will find the therapeutic environment I continually strive to provide is one full of open-mindedness, patience, acceptance, opportunities for challenging previous thought processes, and humor. My philosophy is clients have the answers; I offer support for the journey to discover those answers.
My clinical experience has been focused on development and growth of healthy relationships, skills building, and increased self-awareness. I currently provide counseling to adult individuals and couples. I am a positive person who likes to help others live a more joyous and purposeful life.
I work with my clients from a theoretical orientation of counseling that blends cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, psychodynamic, and family systems theories. I believe in supporting clients in their emotional growth processes, while allowing them to determine their own pace and direction.
