My Approach to Helping
My name is Travis Schmidt and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Hawaii and Idaho. I value everyone's experiences and really try to help process past events and work towards a more manageable future. I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Problem Solving Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I have helped individuals and couples with trauma, addiction, childhood experiences, and faith-based therapy in my practice.
The main therapeutic approaches are cognitive theory, problem-solving therapy, and dialectical behavior theory. CBT is an intervention aimed at reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety. PST is a brief treatment for those experiencing depression and stress related to inefficient problem-solving skills. DBT is used mainly with interpersonal conflicts and is useful in treating mood disorders, suicidal ideation, and changing behavioral patterns.
