My Approach to Helping
Does it feel frustratingly hard to remember parts of your childhood? Are you constantly stressed, overwhelmed, or caught off guard by big emotions?
I get it. As someone who has experienced anxiety and trauma firsthand, I know just how isolating, confusing, and overwhelming those feelings can be. You may feel unhappy in your relationships, always wanting to stand up for yourself but being scared people will leave if you do. You may feel like there are multiple personalities inside you, one that comes out when you're mad, one when you're sad, and then one that's happy, and they just take over. You struggle to have hope for change.
After years of living in survival mode, I understand how peace can feel like a distant dream, but it is possible. Using trauma-informed, culturally aware approaches and, a bit of humor (because therapy doesn’t have to be terrifying), we can work together to build your coping skills and increase self-awareness. We work collaboratively, meaning at the start we'll create long-term goals you'd like to strive for; every week, we either work towards those or hold space for short-term crises that come up and you'd like to process. My style is compassionate and warmly challenging to keep you moving towards growth.
Reach out today for a free consultation, I’m here to support you. I know how exhausting it can be to live in survival mode, constantly carrying the weight of stress and old, emotional wounds. You deserve to live an authentic, fulfilling life. If you're ready to learn who you are underneath the layers of trauma, stress and, start living a life you enjoy, let's work together to make it happen!
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
With years of experience in community mental health, adolescent residential treatment, and private practice, I specialize in helping adolescents and adults work through anxiety and trauma. Drawing on advanced training in trauma-informed approaches and insight-oriented therapy, I support clients in understanding how past experiences and current stressors impact their lives today. We collaborate to create a customized treatment approach fit to your unique intersectionality and goals. Together, we?ll uncover your true self beneath layers of anxiety and pain, empowering you to live authentically and aligned with your values.
I also have a deep understanding of intergenerational trauma and identity challenges, especially for those navigating the pressures of being a first-generation cycle breaker. As a Middle Eastern therapist and child of immigrants, I deeply value cultural awareness and the importance of honoring diverse identities and experiences. My approach is rooted in creating a safe, inclusive space where people from all walks of life feel seen, heard, and supported. I am passionate about breaking cycles of intergenerational trauma and advocating for mental health awareness, particularly within communities that have historically stigmatized therapy. Beyond my practice, I align with causes such as racial and social justice, LGBTQ+ rights, neurodivergence acknowledgment and accommodations, immigrant rights, and trauma recovery.
My Role as a Therapist
Sessions, from start to finish, are a collaborative space where we build and work on short and long-term treatment goals. The first few sessions are usually getting comfortable in the therapy space, where we might be addressing a crisis reason that brought you to therapy now or getting more background into what life factors created you who you are. As we get deeper into sessions, I hold space for the big emotions while warmly challenging you to keep you from getting stuck in old patterns and keep moving forward. Sometimes sessions will be really frikin hard, sometimes we'll be laughing, sometimes we'll be crying. My role is to be here with you through all of it, whatever it looks like.
