My Approach to Helping

Hello! I'm Tyler Hartford, lead clinician and founder of GRIT.
Welcome to Grace, Resilience, and Integrity Therapy (GRIT)! Life moves in seasons, times to grieve, heal, and ultimately overcome. Each stage demands its due, but life also calls us forward. At GRIT, we help you navigate this journey: from victimhood to survival, and ultimately to freedom. Our work focuses on breaking free from the burdens of the past, empowering you to live with purpose, strength, and clarity.

At GRIT, we take a holistic approach to healing, addressing the mind, body, and spirit to foster lasting transformation. Rooted in timeless principles and informed by modern practices, our therapy emphasizes personal responsibility, integrity, and resilience. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions, we provide a compassionate, values-based space for growth. Together, we explore your core values, rebuild relationships, and align your life with meaningful purpose.
True healing goes beyond symptom relief, it’s about thriving. At GRIT, we draw on insights from philosophy, mythology, and faith to guide you in confronting life’s chaos with courage and discipline. If you’re ready to embrace the narrow path of growth and overcome life’s challenges, we are here to walk alongside you. Begin your journey toward strength, fulfillment, and integrity today.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is best used for specific issues when they are inhibiting one's sense of wellness and
their journey toward greater fulfillment. If the client is ready and willing to endure the discomfort inherent in the process of change, than progress can occur. The goal of psychotherapy should be the independence and sovereignty of the individual.
