My Approach to Helping
As your therapist, I want to meet your needs and personalize therapy to work toward the goals that we set together. To optimally meet your needs, I would ask that you regularly give feedback to me based on what you feel is going well and areas you would like to change. The purpose of our therapeutic relationship is to work toward the goals and areas of your life that you would like to be different. My goal with you in therapy is to work toward wholeness, restoration, and coping strategies so you can lead a satisfying life. The work that we do together in therapy is only the beginning and is meant to give you tools in your toolbox for the future and attunement to personal and relational formation.
I will utilize an individualized approach for each person. We all approach our lives in different ways, so I will tailor my approach to your individual needs. This will include approaches taken from various therapeutic approaches such as, cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused, and person-centered. It is important to practice the things you learn in sessions in your daily life. This may not come easy at first, but over time you will begin to see improvements. Some examples of assignments I might utilize are journaling, breathing exercises, mindfulness exercises, or short readings. Your experience is my top priority, so feel free to reach out with any concerns.
