My Approach to Helping
Helping others is something that I cherish and love to do. After 25 years of working with children, adolescents, adults, and their families, I continue to have great enthusiasm and demonstrate empathy, compassion, and concern. My approach is to help people identify their strengths and assist them on building upon these strengths to improve their self esteem and accomplish set goals. I have worked successfully with children who have behavior problems and have helped them learn to become more focused and control their behavior by using behavioral modification techniques and working closely with their family. Assisting people in developing effective coping skills to better overcome any crisis or obstacle is an essential part of the treatment. Helping them find the right and appropriate tools to effectively solve their problems is what I strive to do. Many people are resistant to begin therapy. I create a safe, trusting, and comfortable environment helping people feel more at ease. When working with a person who is anxious or depressed, I use cognitive behavioral therapy to reduce their symptoms. As I am bilingual in English and Spanish, I conduct treatment in both languages. I welcome the opportunity to work with all families.
