My Approach to Helping
As a queer, Latinx, immigrant therapist, I am dedicated to empowering individuals (and couples) in the LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and/or immigrant communities. My personal experience has led me to create a therapeutic space where others can feel seen in their fullness and begin to find belonging within. Let's work together to understand the connections between your identities, life stressors, and mental health so that you can: set boundaries, develop different coping strategies, manage fear/shame/guilt, and find supportive resources that work for you.
In this process, I'll support you by using my extensive training in family and couples therapy to understand the impact of your relationships. As we explore the impact of shame, fear, guilt, racism, homophobia, and other forms of discrimination, you'll begin to understand and manage the patterns of thought, feelings, and behaviors that impact your goals.
As a therapist and human, I believe that we ALL have the wisdom we need in order to navigate our own lives. "Therapy" is a series of conversations that help us tap into that wisdom and make sense of your lived experience(s). In this process, my hope is to create a space where you can feel seen and find the belonging you've been searching for, in yourself.
