My Approach to Helping
Accepting new clients. If you are here I believe it is because you want a change, and change can be hard. I believe this is because through life we have learned to avoid those emotions, thoughts, and situations that are difficult for us, whether it be through distractions, substances, or other means, and wanting to avoid the difficult things is natural. However, avoidance can lead us away from those things that mean the most to us, leaving us feeling stuck and defeated. As an ACT therapist, I strive to give you the abilities to be with your difficult experiences, while you engage in actions and experiences that move you towards your values.
I am passionate in working with adults who are struggling with Trauma, Anxiety, and Depression. I utilize several modalities including EMDR to help clients process traumatic or difficult experiences, and I am trained in others to help develop insight, increase skills towards regulation, and changing unhelpful behaviors.
Reaching out for help and talking to a stranger about our deepest fears and struggles can be incredibly difficult, but there can also be many benefits.
