My Approach to Helping
We want to feel connected to ourselves and to the world, to be in daily touch with the meaning of our lives. Although we are each capable of having meaningful, trusting relationships, it is not always obvious how to make that happen. A warm, skilled, and patient counselor can guide you in catalyzing your inner resources, practicing new relational skills, and becoming more compassionate toward parts of yourself you have been ashamed of. In my practice, I have helped clients recover from debilitating symptoms of anxiety and depression; helped couples eliminate patterns of blow-up arguments and communication impasses in their relationships; supported clients through the challenging early years of parenthood; carried clients through the shedding of long-held addictions; guided families in their struggle to connect more harmoniously with each other; walked clients through the difficult terrain of bereavement over lost loved ones; helped both younger and older adult clients to significantly transform their relationships with their parents; and have helped clients through major life crises, transitioning them into new phases of empowerment and wholeness.
I have a generous sliding scale.
I provide receipts for submission to insurance companies for reimbursement to the client.
I provide a free, confidential, face-to-face, 20-minute consultation session to see if I'm the right fit for you.
