My Approach to Helping
Holding a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University, my training was informed by psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive behavioral theories. I have additional expertise in several trauma-focused approaches including, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) and Brainspotting. I am currently pursuing certification in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a body-centered approach that treats the somatic symptoms of unresolved trauma.
My professional background extends to community mental health, where I’ve supported individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, substance abuse, and relationship issues through individual therapy. I also bring 12 years of experience as a physician assistant, evaluating and treating patients in the fields of primary care, urology, and otolaryngology.
In the therapy room, I adopt a non-pathologizing approach, grounded in counseling's wellness-centered philosophy. My belief in an integrative and holistic path to healing shapes my practice, fostering a collaborative journey toward mental and emotional well-being.
